Bob Carroll will be presenting our Active Shooter/Workplace Violence Training as a Professional Development Event webinar for the Chicago-area Northwest Human Resources Council on Thursday, August 9, 2018.
The audience will be presented with a workplace shooting situation and have the opportunity to learn the proper measures to take should this type of incident occur. The focus then switches to deescalation techniques to diffuse situations before they could potentially become work place violence situations. Even though employers can do their best to diffuse situations, there are times when they have to take other action for the safety and well-being of everyone in the workplace, the audience will know and understand when it is time to stop trying to diffuse the situation and take actions that involve outside law enforcement agencies. It is important to have a plan in place. Just like fire drills, the audience will learn how to run a workplace violence evacuation drill based on the "Run, Hide, Fight" principals. The audience will also discuss what roles each member of management has in operating these drills (much like a fire drill with a twist). The audience will then have the opportunity for questions or to present situations that they have concerns with in their particular workplace to get some answers on how to address them.
