Thoughts on the New Overtime Rules 6/2/2016

Effective December 1, 2016, the Department of Labor's updated rules under the FLSA will substantially change who can be "exempt" from overtime pay. The new rules basically double the current minimum pay for exempt employees and are estimated to add over $12 billion in new overtime costs to US businesses' payrolls over the first three years.

Our host, Bob Carroll and PSLabor's Rick Torres are joined by Clifford Hammond and Kellen Myers, attorneys from Nemeth Law, to discuss some of the obvious implications behind the DOL's new rules under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Further, they will also dive into the not-so-obvious challenges that business owners, managers, and rank-and-file employees face as these new rules creep up on us to create a very different business landscape in 2017.
